Driving Natural Traffic to Your Blog
Once you have set up your blog, given it an appropriate appearance, and added some interesting content you are ready to go. However, how do you get people to pay an initial visit to see what you have to offer? There are many different strategies used to accomplish this goal and a lot of diverse opinion about what works best. However, one idea that is both popular and ethical is called “Oil Rig Hopping” and relates to visiting other people’s blogs.
The basic idea is that you go to other blogs, preferably ones related to your business or niche, and leave relevant comments on their blogs with links to your blog as part of the comment. These comments should not be sales pitches or off topic, but directly related to the blog you are commenting on. Just include a link to your blog in the comment. Assuming you make an insightful or interesting comment, other visitors to that particular blog will follow the link you included back to your blog. The great thing about this practice is that everyone wins. The owner of the blog you posted the comment on gets a good comment that illustrates the success of their blog and the people that follow your link back presumably learn about a new resource, your blog.
For you personally, you get three benefits from “Oil Rig Hopping”.
First and foremost, assuming your comment is interesting and attracts attention, hopefully you will receive more natural, or organic, traffic back to your blog. As long as the blog you posted the comment on was related to your industry it is a fairly safe assumption that many of its regular readers will also be interested in what you have to say or offer. Attracting visitors by contributing something useful or meaningful to the overall discussion is much better than using many of the less ethical or trickier means available.
Second, one of the factors that search engines, meta crawlers and blog ranking bots take into account is the number of external links it finds to your website. That is, the number of times and places that your URL appears on websites and blogs other than your own. The more external links you have, the better you look to these programs and the better your ranking will be.
Third, and finally, this process helps more fully integrate yourself and your marketing efforts into the larger industry. Since you are visiting other successful blogs in your own industry, you may very well come across new trends, tricks, or controversies and as long as you actually read the articles in order to comment intelligently upon them, you may discover all kinds of useful things. Similarly, if you leave good, thought provoking comments that complement the other person’s blog, there is a good possibility of getting to know these other people personally and perhaps even partnering with them in some respect.

How to Save Money in 2010, a New Year’s Resolution
Create and Maintain a Budget
First off, create a list of all your monthly income and also a list of your monthly expenses. When determining income, list all sources including alimony, child support, side jobs, etc. In calculating expenses, be sure to include housing, food, transportation, utilities, entertainment, etc. To gain an accurate reflection of actual expenses, sit down each night and write down expenses, just make sure to save receipts. Determine if your income covers all of your expenses. If the answer is no, then some expenses need to be reduced.
There are several advantages to sticking to your budget. Firstly, most people have set financial goals that they would like to reach in the future. Sometimes it may be a trip, a brand new car and car insurance, or a college education. A budget can help people save money to make these goals a reality. Additionally, many people are crushed under heavy consumer debt. Without a disciplined pattern of spending, it is virtually impossible to make much headway in reducing debt. A personal budget will provide the necessary framework to begin eliminating these inflated account balances.
Cut Back on Spending
Firstly, alter credit card behavior. Start to pay cash whenever possible. This will help you avoid making a purchase unless you actually have the money available. If you decide to make a credit card purchase, be prepared to pay the balance off monthly. This will save a lot of money through avoiding interest charges. If you already have a credit card balance, then transfer to a card with a low interest rate. Also, find a card that does not charge an annual fee.
Another tip is to pack your lunch every day. All of those lunch hours spent at restaurants will add up. Bringing your own lunch can save you several dollars every day, which will add up over time.
Use your cell phone during off peak hours. Some people will spend a couple hundred dollars a month on phone charges. Avoid this by making most calls during off peak times. Check with your service and plan to find out when you have cheaper or unlimited calls.
Finally, bundle your insurance. Many insurance companies will offer their customers lower rates if they purchase multiple policies. For instance, some people use the same agent for multiple cars, and others combine their cars insurance and house insurance. Always keep in mind that a dollar here and there really begins to add up. Avoid the temptation of thinking that changing your spending habits wouldn’t save that much money.
Making a commitment to save money in 2010 is the rare New Year’s resolution that is easy to keep, because of the temptation. There are 30 ways to save money in 2010, and this article only show two of them.

Web Site Submission Software
It’s not uncommon for webmasters to be concerned that their web site is not getting enough visitors (”traffic”), especially from search engines. Aware of this problem, but unsure of the reasons for it, it’s easy to start jumping to incorrect conclusions… “Perhaps it’s because I haven’t submitted to all the lesser known search engines?” or “Perhaps it’s because I haven’t submitted often enough?”
The reality however is somewhat different from the perception – while it was true that many web sites were underperforming in terms of search engine traffic, the reasons behind it were a little more complex. If you were to ask people to name as many search engines as they can, I think you would find most people could not name more than a handful, perhaps Google, MSN, Yahoo, Ask, Altavista, etc. (How many more can you name?) The reality seems to me to be that most searchers use only one or two of these search engines, and the amount of traffic from search engines is very closely correlated to how well your site performs in the results. In other words, coming near the top of the results on major search engines, for popular keywords that relate to your site, is more important than being listed in every conceivable search engine.
So what does that mean in practical terms? What are you supposed to do to get more traffic?
The first thing that I would suggest is to begin with keyword research (for example, by using Keyword Elite). The idea is to identify keywords that you will target. These should be keywords that describe your web site’s content, that do not face excessive competition, but are also fairly popular with searchers. Obviously, you will want to mostly focus on your main keywords, but you should also identify a range of less popular but low-competition keywords (the “long tail”) to target as well.
The next step is to adjust your site content. Make sure your most important keywords appear on your web pages, especially in prominent positions such as HTML Title and Header tags. Be careful however to avoid excessive repetition, as search engines can easily identify it, and may penalize you for it.
The final step is to start to build up incoming links (”backlinks”) to your web site. If you do this, you do not need to spend any time at all submitting to the major search engines, since they will eventually find and spider your site as a result of the incoming links (I no longer submit any new sites to search engines, but never have any trouble being listed regardless). Incoming links also have the benefit that they can contribute to improved rankings in some search engines.
- One of the easiest ways to get some incoming links is to submit to Internet directories (there are over a thousand Internet directories), perhaps with the help of directory submission software.
- Getting links from directories, as described above, is an easy win, but it should not be the end of the process. You should continue to work on activities that will get more backlinks on a regular and ongoing basis. This includes writing and submitting original articles to article directories (you can use article submission software to help with this), and exchanging links with other web sites (programs like OutRankSmart, SEO Elite or SEO Equalizer can help facilitate and manage link exchanges).

Keyword Research – Internet Marketing For Beginners
You have a website. You are selling the best gadget around. But in order to succeed you should get visitors to your website. You need traffic. Nobody knows about your product or website. You depend on web searches, or more precisely, on web search engines. They should have your website indexed and display it among search results. But not just any search results. Your page should be displayed when somebody searches for keywords that are relevant to your website.
The key to online success are right keywords. You should target keywords that people use to find things. Of course, your product should be something people need and are looking to buy. Otherwise even the best keywords will not help you. But how do you know what are people looking for? The answer is called keyword research. The best approach is to do keyword research before you start with an online project. But even if you already have a website you can optimize it with content about popular keywords. How can you find them?
You can do it manually. But analyzing each keyword, counting backlinks and estimating competition is a very time consuming task. The best approach is to use a dedicated tool like Market Samurai. Market Samurai has (almost) everything you need for internet marketing. It is a great keyword research and search engine competition analysis software. With it you can easily find right keywords you should target. How do you use it?
Using Market Samurai is very simple. You create a project around a root keyword. This is the keyword that describes your market, for example “used cars”. Market samurai will help you to find keywords (search phrases) that are related to your market, in this case to used cars. Your goal should be to select keywords for which you could rank on the first page of Google search results. You need to look for keywords that have some number of daily searches, have little or weak competition and there should be some advertisers advertising for this keyword.
The number of searches is pretty obvious. If nobody searches for some keyword then it makes no sense to target this keyword. The more search volume, the more traffic could come to your website. As a rule of thumb you should look for keywords that have at least 100 daily searches. The strength of the competition is not so obvious parameter. In order to reach top position on the search results page there should be very few other pages competing for the same keyword. Because if there is a strong competition you will never reach high ranking which consequently means lower traffic to your website. To evaluate the competition for particular keyword, Market Samurai provides an excellent matrix of key properties for top 10 websites ranking for particular keyword. You should have a little knowledge about SEO to decide if this is a “go” or “no go” case, but even for beginners it is easy to check the number of backlinks and PageRank.
The third criteria is the market for this keyword. If there are no advertisers then it is very likely that this keyword is not interesting. Once you find a keyword that passes all tests you should use it to create a web page around it. Don’t forget to publish only original quality content. A few backlinks and you are done! If your judgment was right then you will shortly rank for this keyword.

When it comes to the ways commonly used to make your computer fast, the registry cleaners are known to perform a very wonderful task. To understand how the cleaners perform in computer system, it is good for an individual to get to know how the windows store information that is used in the computer system. The information that is stored is always referenced when an operation is performed on a computers system. 2 Humiliating Blog Marketing Mistakes That Will Kill Cost You Money!
Do you publish a blog for your business? If you do…..I’d like to talk about some humiliating mistakes you should actively avoid, especially if you are trying to position yourself as an expert. As someone who helps maintain, publish and promote the business’s of others, I’ve learned the HARD way that it’s often MUCH easier to embarrass yourself (or your clients) if you aren’t careful.
(And I’m NOT talking about the pictures of myself drinking a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 out of a beer funnel from 1995 that were circulating around my Facebook friends list last year). I’m talking PROFESSIONAL embarrassment. And the kind of things, that if you’re maintaining and publishing blogs for traffic, publicity and profit, you MUST avoid to keep your sites ranking well, and raking in the cash.
- Check Your Blog Settings Before You Publish Your Very First Post: Depending on what platform you are using (I exclusively use WordPress and recommend you do, too) and what version you are running, you MUST check to make sure you’re blog is set to be “public”. Want an example of why? I was working on a campaign for a client a few months back and we had created all sorts of killer content to promote their newest offer. Articles, press releases, social strategies, link building techniques, you name it, we did it.
Yet, a few weeks later, the client emailed me to tell me that their site STILL wasn’t indexed in the search engines. And when I checked, he was right….all of the STATIC HTML pages were up and ranking, but all of the work MY team did, wasn’t showing up at all. Anywhere. Guess what? I totally forgot to change the initial setting that even ALLOWED the engines to “crawl” the blog. I had it set on “make this blog private”. Not good, right? Thank god I’ve got caller id, because I was able to avoid getting screamed at for a few days until we got the whole thing straightened out…:-) Don’t make this mistake if you are a professional blog consultant – it IS embarrassing!
- Respond to Your Comments! I think this is embarrassing. Maybe you don’t…but I was sort of taught at a young age that when people ask you questions, or say nice things about you, or compliment your work, it’s polite to respond! It amazes me how many people don’t….or how many “gurus” will tell you that they don’t even read their blog comments. (after asking people to leave them for the latest “launch” nonsense) I’ll tell you what: Last night?
I listened to an hour long interview with Seth Godin, the marketing genius behind the “Purple Cow” and “IdeaVirus” theology – and he said he gets 5-600 emails a day. And responds to each personally. That’s what being “remarkable” is all about…and while we all may not get there, taking the time to interact with people who care enough to comment is a GREAT way of saving face, making friends…and BUILDING a business blog that people truly love.

How Do You Pick the Perfect Domain Name?
Picking the perfect domain name is very important in a crowded internet where it gets more and more difficult to get yourself noticed. Getting to the top or even into the major search engines is challenging and then there is the problem of establishing your brand. No wonder it is difficult to find that perfect domain name. So how do you?
First thing you need to ensure is that you do not contravene any trademarks. Luckily, domain names are very competitive and unless you go for a very long name you are unlikely to find a domain that is covered by a trademark. Many common names are also taken. What you must check is that you do not use a domain name that is close to another one. I once found “DisneyWorlds.com” available for example – tempting but I just contacted them. Buying this would have been a good way to get myself into a very big law suit. Buying an domain name with Realtors in it is likely to get you a very firm legal letter, as is “Easy”Something or “Monter” Something – although the ability to trademark a common word is a moot point! Best not to start your business fighting off lawyers though!
So start off by making a list of domain names that you would like to use. Make it quite a long list because good available domain names are hard to find. Use a bit of imagination and try and make the potential domain name catch and memorable.
Here are some “rules” to get the best domain name you can.
1) Try for a .com is you can.
2) Use two or more descriptive words in the domain name.
3) Don’t use hyphens or numbers unless you must.
4) Try for less than 20 letters.
5) Try for less than 3 words.
Now I know that names such as Google have become very successful but it is better for search engine ranking to use descriptive names. Currently search engines are giving ranking preference to web sites that have the search term all or partly in the domain name. Do a few searches on your chosen search terms and have a look at which domains are in the top 20. Remember what we said about copying though!
Go to a good registrar. Please do a few searches on the registrars first. There is at least one top registrar that got itself into a great deal of trouble in the last few years. Once at the registrar search through your list of preferred names. Good registrars will give you some suggestions if your domain is not available.
If you are not having much luck then do a few searches on sites that tell you which domains have “just dropped” – which is the name for domains that have just become available.
It’s hard work finding a good domain – but it sets up your business on the internet – so spend so time on it.

How to Optimally Learn SEO? Reveal Your Plan Here!
It is undeniable that your success in the online market depends on how much popular your website is. Therefore, it is really significant to learn how to bring your website to an outstanding position among your competition, which is known as search engine ranking optimization. In this context, you may ask yourself “how to learn SEO”? Read further to get your plan.
What do experts say about this topic?
Nowadays in every SEO book, you will hear something about writing articles with back links to your websites to push it to get high page rankings in the search engines. This is true but not everything! You have to learn too how to write an article that is friendly to the popular search engines like Google. Then, it makes sense to add 1 or 2 back links to your blog.
Does it make sense to do so?
It is crucial to master the needed writing techniques, if you want to get ahead of the other online sites that have web pages similar to yours. This will help you to get more traffic to your webpage and hopefully more potential customers. But the interesting question here is: “how to learn SEO techniques?” There are many ways that you need to learn to be able to use it successfully.
What is the #1 step to learn about SEO?
The first thing that you need to know is the answer to the question “how to submit my website to Google free?” This is really a great point to start with. Your site must be first indexed before it can get a decent position in Google results.
You can do it simply by visiting the corresponding page for your target engine and submit your blog there. For example, you can submit your blog for free at http://www.google.com/addurl/. It is assumed here that you have an account there. If not, you should do it first.
It sounds easy but what would be the next step?
Next, you will want to know the answer to the question “How to check site page rank?” This helps you to monitor your efforts and to see if the authority of your site increases or not. It is worthwhile to do so especially that is free and easy.
If you search for the keyword “Google Toolbar”, then you can find many sites that will offer you this toolbar for free. This tool will provide you a green bar with a score of number between 0 and 10.
What is the most significant point here?
The most significant thing that you will want to know the answer to the question: “what is the best search engine?” This is especially true in case you want to target a certain engine.
There are many great engines that are around there. However, the best ones are the most popular ones like Google, Yahoo and Alta Vista. Indeed, you need to make sure that your website is registered with at least these 3 search engines.
How to avoid paying for expensive SEO course?
Indeed, it is not needed anyway to pay thousands of dollars for the consultants who tell you the same basics that you can find for free. Even more, be careful when you buy any SEO software and make sure that this software does not use any black hat techniques that will harm you in an undesired manner.
Ok, what would be your duty now?
As a matter of fact, you need to use the right keywords with the proper density, check your site page rank, submit your site to the most popular search engines, and write articles with back links to your website. Then, you are done and you will see a great improvement in your ranking.
Consequently, this will make your site more popular and you will have a lot more traffic that means you will have a lot more customers in the long run. Plan your action today and follow it and this is really one of the best tips.
